Atherton Bikes

Welcome to Atherton Bicycles. Boyd Atherton started the company in 1995 and has been making hand-built custom bicycles ever since. They come in all varieties: road, mountain, track, cyclocross, single speed, BMX, 29 incher, tandem and… Well, you get the point; we’ve built many different types of bicycles. We are probably most well known for our custom built bicycles for people of short stature. The first bicycle we built was for Verne Troyer, also known as “Mini-Me”. (Verne and Boyd have been buddies since grade school.) But even though Verne is only 32” tall, his bike is not the smallest we’ve built! Don’t worry if you’re not a little person; we can still build you a bicycle perfect for you.

iXi bike

Life is complicated. Sometimes between the meetings, the groceries and the oil changes, we forget to stop rushing everywhere and enjoy getting from point a to point b. That appointment at two-thirty might not make you smile, but getting there on an iXi Bicycle will. Designed from start to finish to fit into your life, the iXi isn’t just a fancy bike.

Young and old, small and tall- the iXi bike uses a highly adjustable seat and handlebar system to match its rider. So Senior can sneak out on Junior’s iXi to grab an icecream, though we recommend two iXi’s to avoid any jealousy.

For further customization, choose the BreakAway for its easy-to-dismantle frame (great for storage) or add on cupholders, backpacks, seat bags, and key chains. There's even a bell.
